Keith Urban

Keith Urban was born on October 26, 1967, in Whangarei, New Zealand, and moved with his family to Caboolture, Queensland, Australia, at age two. Gifted his first guitar at six, he won multiple talent quests across Australia before releasing a self-titled debut album in 1991. Moving to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1992, he formed the band The Ranch before releasing his American solo debut in 1999.

Urban became one of the dominant figures in 21st-century country music with multi-platinum albums like 'Golden Road' (2002), 'Be Here' (2004), 'Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing' (2006), and 'Defying Gravity' (2009). His virtuosic lead guitar playing and hybrid country-pop-rock hooks generated chart-topping anthems like 'Somebody Like You', 'Days Go By', 'Blue Ain\'t Your Color', 'Making Memories of Us', and 'Wasted Time'. He won the Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance four times (for 'You\'ll Think of Me', 'Before He Cheats' guitar collaboration, 'Sweet Thing', and 'Til Summer Comes Around'). A beloved television personality, he served as a coach on 'The Voice Australia' and a judge on 'American Idol'. In 2023, Urban was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
