PewDiePie

Felix Kjellberg was born on October 24, 1989, in Gothenburg, Sweden. Demonstrating an early talent for digital art and gaming, he enrolled in industrial economics and technology management at Chalmers University of Technology before famously dropping out in 2011 to focus full-time on his YouTube channel, financing his early videos by working at a hot dog stand.

Adopting the moniker 'PewDiePie', his unfiltered, energetic gameplay commentaries on indie horror titles such as 'Amnesia: The Dark Descent' and 'Minecraft' captured the imagination of a burgeoning global internet audience. In August 2013, he became the most-subscribed creator on YouTube, a historic position he held continuously until late 2019. His authentic, bedroom-vlog style democratized entertainment, pioneering the modern creator economy and proving that an individual content creator could rival multinational media corporations.

In 2016, Time magazine named him one of the World's 100 Most Influential People. Kjellberg has leveraged his colossal platform for philanthropic causes, raising millions of dollars for charity organizations including Charity: Water, Save the Children, and the World Wildlife Fund. Today, living in Tokyo with his family, PewDiePie remains an indelible founding father of 21st-century digital culture.
