Eddy Cue

Eduardo H. 'Eddy' Cue was born on October 23, 1964, in Miami, Florida, to Cuban immigrant parents. Earning bachelor’s degrees in computer science and economics from Duke University in 1986, Cue joined Apple in 1989 as a software engineer and customer support manager. When Steve Jobs returned to Apple in 1997, Cue quickly became one of his most trusted operational lieutenants.

Cue was instrumental in creating the Apple Online Store in 1998, followed by the revolutionary iTunes Store in 2003, which single-handedly revitalized the global music recording industry by offering legitimate 99-cent digital track downloads. In 2008, Cue oversaw the launch of the App Store for iPhone, sparking the multi-billion-dollar global mobile app economy.

Promoted to Senior Vice President of Services, Cue expanded Apple’s ecosystem to encompass iCloud, Apple Pay, Apple Music, Apple Maps, and Apple TV+, including negotiating landmark sports streaming agreements with Major League Soccer and MLB. His digital content architectures now power the devices of over two billion active Apple users worldwide.
